Based on Harlan Coben's novel of the same name, Caught was filmed where it is set, between San Carlos de Bariloche and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Caught series main cast

Originally titled Atrapados in Spanish, the series follows a journalist investigating the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl, Martina.

With a population of around 130,000 inhabitants, Ema Garay’s hometown, San Carlos de Bariloche, is a picturesque city located in the vast Argentine Patagonia region.

Nestled at the base of the Andes Mountains on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche is renowned for its stunning natural surroundings and architecture that blends European alpine influences.

Historical building of San Carlos de Bariloche
At the beginning of the series, several establishing shots filmed in Bariloche appear, including the Movilidad de Parques Nacionales building, an iconic local landmark built in 1936.

Puente Moreno Bariloche
This bridge over Lake Moreno, which is shown several times during the series, is located about 12 miles (20 km) northwest of downtown Bariloche.

The lake is a good place for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Keep in mind that the city is one of the most touristic destinations in Argentina.

Caught Buenos Aires
However, the high school is part of an old educational complex located in the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

To grasp the vast distances in Argentina, Bariloche is approximately 963 miles (1,550 km) from the capital, Buenos Aires. This is about 20 hours by car or bus, or two hours by plane.

Caught Argentina
The company is located at the entrance to the Parque Productivo Tecnológico Industrial Bariloche, approximately four miles (about seven km) from downtown San Carlos de Bariloche.

The park is situated on the famous Route 40, which runs through the Patagonia region all the way to Tierra del Fuego Province in Argentina.

The graveyard in the third episode was filmed at the Jardín-Cementerio Pablo Nogués in Buenos Aires, which features a distinctive chapel built in 1978.

This establishing shot in Buenos Aires in the fourth episode is of the stunning Bencich Building.

Located in the Montserrat neighborhood, this 1927 building boasts two large domes on its rooftop.

Martina attends a concert at the magnificent Teatro Colón, one of the most famous and renowned opera houses in the world.

Opened in 1908, it is known for its stunning acoustics and grand architectural design, which blends Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau styles.

Buenos Aires Marriott
The hotel is the Buenos Aires Marriott, a luxury accommodation near the theater, with standard room rates ranging from approximately $217 to $352 USD per night.

Established in 1917, the hotel was built in the elegant Beaux-Arts architectural style.

Caught series house
The mansion is the headquarters of the Asociación Argentina de Polo in Pilar, also known as El Chalet, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.

The house is a Victorian-style castle built around 1900 for a wedding, using materials exclusively imported from Germany.
