The movie opens with Beatrice walking in a snowy, bustling city that, from the establishing shots, must be New York.
This scene was filmed in front of the Bank of Nova Scotia Building at 1709 Hollis Street in downtown Halifax.

Located on Nova Scotia's South Shore, this charming seaside town is renowned for its gorgeous waterfront and iconic trio of historic churches.

The North Pole Inn is the magnificent Jeremiah F. Kenny Mansion in Halifax.
Built in 1900 in the Queen Anne Revival style by renowned architect James Charles Philip Dumaresq, this elegant home now serves as a private residence.
The property originally included a two-story wooden coach house with a mansard roof, housing horse-drawn carriages and stables.

Emilia meets Porter (Kevin Hanchard) at the Jo-Ann's Deli Market & Bake Shop on Mahone Bay's Edgewater Street.
Established in 1986, the shop features a café and a small fruit stand, as well as gourmet deli items and local seafood specialties like her famous salt cod fishcakes.
