The series follows Helen Webb (played by Keira Knightley), a devoted wife and mother who secretly works as a professional spy for the covert organisation the Black Doves.
Aided by her old friend Sam (Ben Whishaw), Helen embarks on a dangerous mission to uncover a conspiracy linking London's criminal underworld.
Here is the best and most complete guide to all the filming locations of Black Doves. You'll find the locations in this spoiler-free report in order of appearance.
Where was Black Doves filmed?
The first episode, "To Love Then", begins in The Coal Hole, a charming pub located on the Strand in central London, close to the Savoy Hotel and Covent Garden.
This historic pub, which is said to have been frequented by the writer Charles Dickens, features dark wooden interiors and magnificent stained glass windows.

After taking Carting Lane and crossing the Thames through the Golden Jubilee Bridge, Jason (played by Andrew Koji) stops at a bench near the Jubilee Gardens on the Queen's Walk.
The bench appears in three additional scenes throughout the series, featuring various characters.

How lucky Sam must be to find the famous Spanish Steps in the centre of Rome completely empty, without a single soul to ruin the photo.
Built in the 18th century in the Baroque style, this monumental staircase is a magnet for tourists at any time of day.

The Black Doves house
The Webb family house is a spacious six-bedroom detached house in Crystal Palace, Bromley.
With a terrace overlooking a beautiful green garden, this large home can be hired on Peerspace for events, meetings and photo and film shoots.
According to a real estate platform, this property has an estimated market value of over £2.5 million (more than $3 million).

As the family take a black cab to the charity event, they pass Christ Church on Gipsy Hill, a neighbourhood near Crystal Palace.

The event takes place in the Somerset House, a grand neoclassical palace from the late 18th century that today serves as a cultural hub.
The building features the Nelson Stair, a beautiful spiral staircase architect Sir Robert Taylor designed in the late 18th century.

Back in London, Sam stays at the Royal Lancaster, a luxurious 5-star hotel near Hyde Park.
Sam drinks at the hotel bar, the elegant Park Lounge Bar, located in the same hotel.

Regent Sounds is a legendary music store on Denmark Street.
Could it be that the shop is a front in real life, secretly selling weapons on the second floor? I'll leave it at that.

Looking for clues, Sam checks the roof of the Royal Horseguards Hotel, a grand Victorian building overlooking the River Thames.
Originally built as the headquarters for the Royal Horseguards, today, the building serves as a high-end hotel.

Liberty is an iconic department store in the heart of London, known for its distinctive Tudor-style building on Regent Street.
Established in 1875, the building itself was completed in 1924 with dark wooden beams and intricate detailing inspired by traditional Tudor architecture, but it's barely 100 years old.

At the beginning of the second episode, "A Little Black Dove", set in 2014, Helen is recruited in a building at 30 Crown Place in the City of London, near Liverpool Street Station.

The exterior of the conference venue in 2014, where Helen meets Wallace (Andrew Buchan), was filmed in the square near St Paul's Cathedral, where the Paternoster Vents are located.
These large, circular ventilation openings are designed to serve both as modern decorative elements and as functional ventilation for the area below the square.

But the interior is a venue at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel, more than four miles from the Paternoster Vents.
The car park where Helen first meets Sam is at the Whitgift Centre in Croydon.
Opened in the 1960s, it was once one of the largest shopping centers in the UK.

Housed in a beautifully restored 17th-century building with wood-panelled interiors, this restaurant is renowned for its traditional British cuisine.

The Westminster Arms is a small pub close to Westminster Abbey.
With a traditional, wood-paneled bar counter, the pub is frequented by MPs and lobbyists and offers an informal atmosphere for discussing politics and other matters.

In the third episode, "The Coming Night", Sam meets Reed (played by Sarah Lancashire) at the old Granada Tooting in Wandsworth, considered one of the UK's most spectacular historic cinemas.
Opened in 1931, the grand interior, ornate like a Gothic cathedral, was designed in the Art Deco style.
Having hosted some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, including The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and The Rolling Stones, it is now a bingo hall known as Buzz Bingo and The Slots Room Tooting.

But the Kings Arms interior is The Palm Tree Pub in Mile End Park in London's East End.
Since much of the surrounding area was destroyed during the Second World War Blitz, the pub today stands as an isolated building in the park.
This is also one of the recurring locations where the Bad Sisters series was filmed.

Rebuilt in 1881 in stunning Victorian style, the market is home to boutique shops, restaurants and is a popular filming location, appearing in the Harry Potter films.

Reed's penthouse, with 20-foot-high ceilings and a wrap-around glass façade, is Jeffrey Archer's flat—a residence belonging to the renowned novelist and former politician.
This location is highly significant. From the top of this tower at 93 Albert Embankment, Reed has a privileged view of the Houses of Parliament to the north and the U.S. Embassy to the south.
Additionally, the famous headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) is just a three-minute walk away.

When Sam goes to the house of Alex Clark to kill her, he passes near an indoor pool. Is that the same house I saw in an episode of Grand Designs? The house in a cemetery in London?
