Set in Auradon, a prosperous and idyllic realm that is home to the heroes and royalty of several classic Disney stories, Descendants was filmed in and around Atlanta, Georgia.

On this occasion, Cinderella's daughter and the Queen of Hearts' daughter are sent back in time to prevent the event that originally turned the Queen of Hearts evil and stop her from taking over Auradon.

Auradon and the school in the Descendants
Principal Uma's office at Auradon Prep is actually the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta.
This historic estate features a stunning Gothic Tudor mansion built in 1920 by the eldest son of Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler.
The center offers classes in visual arts, dance, music and literary arts, as well as hosting events and weddings.
The establishing shot of Cinderella and Prince Charming's castle is the famous Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany.
This picturesque 19th-century fairytale palace was the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Perched on a rugged hill overlooking the village of Hohenschwangau, its romantic architecture and breathtaking setting have made it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

However, the garden where Chloe practices fencing with her father is located in the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta.
This elegant 1928 mansion, known for its beautifully preserved interiors and gorgeous gardens, served as the President Snow house location in The Hunger Games movies.

This image of Merlin Academy (the former name of Auradon Prep) is taken from Hatley Castle in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada.
Now serving as the administrative center of Royal Roads University, this mansion built in 1908 has been the setting for numerous movies and television shows, including the X-Men series, Smallville, and Deadpool.

But most of the Merlin Academy scenes were filmed at the magnificent Westview Abbey Mausoleum in Atlanta.
Completed in 1943, this memorial park is home to the beautiful chapel featured in the film, adorned with 27 intricately designed stained glass windows.
This is also a popular filming location that has been used in many productions, including the Netflix hit series Ozark and Cobra Kai.

The Descendants house
Ella's house is the spectacular Calhoun Estate in Atlanta's upscale Buckhead neighborhood.
Nicknamed the Pink Palace, the neoclassical mansion was completed in 1926.
Designed by architect Philip Shutze, the 12,000-square-foot home has six bedrooms, an elegant ballroom, and a pool.
