Boasting many cool and interesting locations in La La Land, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F was filmed in Los Angeles but also in Detroit.

40 years after the original film, this reboot of the popular 1980s franchise, starring Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, is the fourth in the saga.

Detroit Police Department
The Detroit Police Department exterior is the impressive Masonic Temple near Cass Park.

Built in 1926, this neo-Gothic building is the world's largest Masonic temple, with intricate stone carvings, stained glass windows, and numerous rooms and theaters used for events.

Before the trial scene, there is an establishing shot of the Los Angeles City Hall complex, with the adjacent East Hall.

The police department was filmed in the stunning Beverly Hills City Hall.

Completed in 1932, this is an iconic example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, featuring beautiful stucco walls and arched doorways characteristic of this style popular in Southern California during the early 20th century.

The Eastern Club Beverly Hills Cop
The exterior of the exclusive club, The Eastern, was filmed outside the Orpheum Theatre on Broadway.

This historic venue located in the downtown area, originally built in 1926, remains a beloved cultural landmark in the city.

The Eastern Club
However, most of the scene was filmed at the Eastern Columbia Lofts, a notable Art Deco-style building completed in 1930.

Originally serving as the headquarters for the Eastern Columbia Outfitting Company, it features a striking turquoise terra cotta clock tower adorned with intricate geometric patterns.

Converted into residential lofts in the early 2000s, the building is not open to the public. Only tenants and residents can enjoy the magnificent rooftop terrace with a fitness center, pool, and panoramic views of the city skyline.
