Although the series is set all over the world, 3 Body Problem was primarily filmed in and around London.
Featuring some interesting locations, including the Wychwood House, the show is based on the popular novel The Three-Body Problem by Chinese author Liu Cixin.

After the huge success of Game of Thrones, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss set out to create a science fiction series. They ended up embarking on this ambitious project about the nature of the universe.

The 3 Body Problem locations
3 Body Problem was not filmed in China. The sequence at Tsinghua University in Beijing in 1966 was shot on a set at Shepperton Studios in the United Kingdom.
The scenes in the Inner Mongolia forests were filmed at Bourne Woods, an area near the studios that has been used many times as a filming location.

Oxford University's particle accelerator, known as the Diamond Light Source, is the UK’s national synchrotron. After the establishing shot, the interior of the facility was created using CGI.

The Chinese prison is a CGI version of the Metropolitan Storage Warehouse, a massive five-story, 1,600-room building in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Located near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this complex was built in the early 20th century as a storage facility for the Metropolitan Coal Company.
Today, the Metropolitan Storage Warehouse has been repurposed for various uses, including office space, commercial businesses, and residential lofts.

The Black Palace, the headquarters of the Strategic Intelligence Agency building in London, doesn't exist.
This modernist black box was digitally inserted next to the Glaziers Hall event venue, situated on the south bank of the River Thames near London Bridge.

In the sixth episode, Wade (played by Liam Cunningham) and his team set up headquarters for their new off-grid operation at the fictional Wychwood Manor.
This is actually the Bramshill House, a historic Jacobean mansion located in Hampshire.
Built in the early 17th century, this grade I-listed building became a police training academy in the 1960s and served as a filming location for the Hanna series.

Will and his friends take a break at Cuckmere Haven Beach in East Sussex, overlooking the Seven Sisters Cliffs.
This scenic coastal area, renowned for the stunning natural beauty of the chalk cliffs, is nestled within the South Downs National Park.
