The real Colby Beach town: Where was Along for the Ride filmed?

The movie opens with a scene where the senior students of Kiffney-Brown Prep break into the school's bell tower.

The TP'ed tower (toilet papered) is the New Hanover County Courthouse, a historic building dating from 1892 located in Wilmington.

The opening credits feature some gorgeous establishing shots of Carolina Beach, doubling as Colby Beach.

The viaduct, pictured, is the Sea Breeze Bridge over the man-made Intracoastal Waterway Snow's Cut, on North Lake Park Boulevard.

The aerial views of the beach with the pier in the background are from Kure Beach, a small town that lies at the southern end of Pleasure Island, next to Carolina Beach.

The village is home to the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic Coast and boasts beautiful seaside surroundings and natural parks.

The scene with Auden walking alone on a pedestrian street in Colby was filmed on Carolina Beach Avenue North.

However, we are not sure that if you visit this laundromat you'll find a hidden door to Clyde's secret pie shop.

The local press reported that the mini-golf scene was filmed at the Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park in Wilmington.

The place on the Boardwalk with good onion rings, where Auden and her mom have lunch, is Havana’s Restaurant at 1 N Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach.

Actress Emma Pasarow looks a lot like Andie MacDowell, although they are not relatives. MacDowell is the real-life mom of actress Margaret Qualley, who both starred as mother and daughter in the Maid series.

The scene with Maggie showing off her BMX skills was probably filmed at Carolina Beach State Park.

The next scene with the girls singing in the car, on their way to the Conch House party, was filmed at Fort Fisher Boulevard S in Kure Beach between J and K Avenues.

According to Port City Daily, the restaurant by the beach where Auden has lunch with his father was filmed at the Carolina Smokehouse restaurant at 9 Pavilion Avenue S in Carolina Beach.

Eli's bike shop was filmed at Pleasure Island Rentals, a canoe and kayak rental service at 2 North Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach.

The lighthouse quest ordeal scene was recorded at the Oak Island Light in Caswell Beach in Southeastern North Carolina.

Completed in 1958, this 153 feet tall cylinder sits on the east end of Oak Island, near the mouth of the Cape Fear River.

Tomlinson Sales is a real department store located at 922 College Road in Wilmington.

The North End Cafe To-Go at 901 Carolina Beach Avenue N in Carolina Beach served as the Beach Beans coffee shop.

The final BMX scene was filmed at the new Ogden Skatepark in Wilmington.
