Now back for the second season, the Amazon Studios series is where Yellowstone meets The X-Files with some Twin Peaks vibes.
Outer Range was primarily filmed in New Mexico, although the neo-Western thriller is set in the fictional town of Wabang in Amelia County, Wyoming.

This supernatural story revolves around rancher Royal Abbott, played by Josh Brolin, the supervillain Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Abbott discovers a mysterious black hole in his land, after the arrival of an enigmatic young woman, Autumn, played by Imogen Poots.

Wabang in Amelia County, Wyoming
The main street of the Amelia County town of Wabang, with the cute Kiva Theater, was filmed on Bridge Street in Las Vegas, NM.
These buildings are as cool as they appear in the series - for once, there is almost no CGI and not many storefronts were dressed up for filming.

The Bison Valley Bank of Wyoming branch was actually filmed at the Community 1st Bank at 518 Douglas Avenue, also in Las Vegas.
Located around 122 miles (196 km) northeast of Albuquerque, Las Vegas is a gorgeous town established in 1835 which has preserved many 19th-century historical buildings.

The diner scene where Rhett (played by Lewis Pullman) meets Maria (Isabel Arraiza) in the first episode, "The Void", is the Odessa's café at 516 Grand Avenue, also in Las Vegas.

Would you like to join lonesome Perry (Tom Pelphrey) for a drink at The Handsome Gambler?
The exterior of this watering hole is located at 123 Bridge Street, although it looks like the interior was built at the I-25 Studios in Albuquerque.
If you look at the Google Street View from March 2021 you'll see a film crew truck in front of the fictional Wabang Drugs pharmacy from episode 3, "The Time".

The Weil and Grady's Saloon of episode four, "The Loss", was filmed at The Legal Tender Saloon at the Lamy History Museum in Lamy, a tiny western railroad village located about 18 miles (29 km) south of the city of Santa Fe.
Opened as a restaurant, the historical Legal Tender Saloon is located in a post-civil war era 1881 building.

The location of the Abbott and the Tillerson ranches has not been revealed yet, although the Abbott Ranch maybe is just a set built somewhere near the studios in Albuquerque.
To transform the New Mexico landscape into Wyoming, the characteristic silhouette of the Grand Teton mountains was added via CGI into the background of many outdoor scenes.

The design of the Abbott ranch's barn seems inspired by the famous early-20th-century T.A. Moulton Barn at the Mormon Row Historic District.
This is one of the most photographed landmarks in rural Wyoming.
Also featured in Tarantino's Django Unchained (2012), the scenic Grand Teton National Park is a wondrous section of the Rocky Mountains featuring pristine lakes, alpine wildlife, and the second-highest peak in Wyoming (13,775 feet - 4,199 m).

In the fifth episode, "The Soil", Royal visits Dr. Nia Bintu at the Rare Earth Department of the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
This modern glass building looks like the new Physics and Astronomy Interdisciplinary Science Building (also known as PAIS) at the University of New Mexico central campus in Albuquerque.

In the first episode of season two, "One Night in Wabang", the Sunset Motel is a real, affordable place to stay on historic Route 66 in Moriarty.
You can book a double room at this mid-century motel, located 35 miles east of Albuquerque, for about $100 a night.

The Regal Inn in the sixth episode, "Do-Si-Do", is a budget-friendly motel in Las Vegas, New Mexico, a small town known for its historic architecture and proximity to scenic areas, east of Santa Fe.

The local press reported that the series was planned to be filmed in and around Calgary, Canada before the pandemic hit and the production moved to New Mexico.
Some more confirmed locations include the city of Santa Fe.
