Crockett Island: Where was Midnight Mass filmed?
Posted by Ra Moon
Do miracles come at a price? The new seven-episode limited series revolves around a village that experiences glorious miracles and sinister omens after a mysterious priest arrives and a disgraced young man returns home.
Midnight Mass was filmed in and around Vancouver, but it's set in a fictional isolated Catholic community living in the small Crockett Island.

This is the third series commissioned by Netflix from the expert on the horror genre Mike Flanagan, creator of the outstanding series The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor, who also directed Doctor Sleep.
Here is our report about the filming locations of Midnight Mass.
Welcome to Crockett Island
The village where Midnight Mass takes place, inhabited by 127 souls, was built in a set at Garry Point Park in Richmond with vistas across the Salish Sea, close to historic Steveston Village.
The website Vancouver Is Awesome notes that the production was interrupted due to the pandemic outbreak in March 2020 when everything was almost ready to start shooting.
The set became a real abandoned eerie town until filming was resumed in August.
Both Garry Point and Steveston have been used in multiple productions based in Vancouver as a filming location, including Virgin River, Nancy Drew, or Home Before Dark.
The dock where the Bay Breeze and the Island Belle ferries connect the village with the rest of the world was filmed in a private dock on Moncton Street in Richmond, located very close to the set.
The studio work, including filming most of the interiors, was done at The Bridge Studios in Burnaby.

The cast is composed of several actors who also starred in The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor including Kate Siegel (Erin Greene), Annabeth Gish (Dr. Sarah Gunning), Henry Thomas (Riley's father, Ed Flynn).
Zach Gilford (The Purge: Anarchy, L.A.'s Finest) plays Riley Flynn and Hamish Linklater is the enigmatic new priest, Father Paul Hill (Legion, The Crazy Ones).

I absolutely loved it, awesome actors, amazing producers, wonderfully done. I love how they talk about God. I hope to see more series like this one!

There was lots of scripture "used" to make points, but never have I heard the Word of God so misrepresented and out of context. The only good part was that when Riley's body died, he kept living in a new body and ascended to God. Now that was scripture adequately and beautifully represented.

Person's comment: "Never have I heard the Word of God so misrepresented and out of context." That truth is central to the very meaning of the series. You're simply stating the obvious. This is supernatural FICTION, my friend. And very well-executed fiction, at that.
