The BBC series boasts beautiful period filming locations, most of them shot in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state.
The Brahmpur University is the King George Medical College, situated in the heart of the historic city of Lucknow.
The cricket nets and polo fields were filmed in La Martinière College private school. Some establishing shots show the Ghanta Ghar, the tallest clock tower in India.
