Desperados is a new Netflix romantic comedy about three LA girls traveling to Mexico. There they will try desperately to delete a drunken email one of them sent to her new boyfriend before he reads it.

The film stars the trio of friends Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live, Aladdin) as Wesley, Anna Camp (True Blood, Pitch Perfect) as Brooke, and Sarah Burns (Enlightened, Barry) as Kaylie.
Completes the main cast Lamorne Morris (New Girl) as Sean, and the star of Amazon series Upload, Robbie Amell as Jared.
Even if the movie is also set in Los Angeles, Desperados was almost entirely filmed in Mexico. Here is our spoiler-free filming locations report:
The Jones bar where Wesley has a blind date with Sean is actually located in the Juárez neighborhood, in the center of Mexico city near Roma.
Boasting many beautiful 19th-century houses, this district has a hipster reputation. The colorful bar is a restaurant called Comedor Lucerna, situated at the junction of Lucerna and Lisboa Streets.
Notice in the picture below that the film crew had to dress the wall to cover a Frida Kahlo graffiti.
When the girls decide to travel to Mexico, the film shows some establishing shots of the spectacular Arch of Cabo San Lucas and the cute town of San José del Cabo.
However, apart from the hotel and the beach, the scenes in the village were filmed on the other side of the country.
This may be because compared to other parts of Mexico, this is a very touristic and expensive area, famed for whale watching tours.

The filmmakers changed the name of the awesome Desperados Hotel featured in the movie. Las Playas Resort is actually the luxurious Esperanza Auberge Resort and Spa in Cabo San Lucas.
Located in Cabo’s Punta Ballena coastline, the hotel grounds are perfectly placed to enjoy dazzling sunsets and sunrises from the whale-tail shaped private beach.
The complex includes a spa, fitness center, infinity pool, nightclub, and an upscale seafood restaurant.

You can rent a 925 square feet casita with a large private terrace and several infinity-edge hot tubs.
There are also fully equipped Villas, from one-bedrooms at 1,800 square foot to four bedrooms at 4,000 sf. On the top of the food chain are the oceanfront villas including a private pool, jacuzzi, and personal butler.
Finally, the Tyrannosaurus Rex of the complex is the 5500 sq four-bedroom hacienda on the edge of the sea.
When the girls are kicked out of the resort, they actually travel over 600 miles away to find their new accommodation. The production moved all the cast and crew to the state of Hidalgo, west of Mexico DF.
The humble but colorful fictional Hotel Los Cocoteros is located in the small village of Zempoala. The market and some street scenes were also filmed here in the town.
The scenes in the airport were filmed in the Cuernavaca International Airport in Temixco, in the state of Morelos.

The Angel de la Paz (Heather Graham) sanctuary is the charming Hacienda San Gabriel de las Palmas in Amacuzac (Morelos State).
This luxury hotel was originally a Franciscan monastery built under the orders of the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés in 1529. The historic colonial building is surrounded by the ruins of a sugar mill and a beautiful botanical garden.
This 5 stars hotel houses 2 swimming pools, tennis and paddle courts, and a spa with a traditional Temazcal sauna.
