The film tells the story (spanning more than 50 years, from 1949 through 2000) of hitman Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro), who claims to have been involved in the 1975 disappearance of Teamsters labor union chief Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), one of America's most powerful men.
The movie contains a pantheon of celebrities including Joe Pesci (Russell Bufalino), Harvey Keitel (Angelo Bruno), Ray Romano (Bill Bufalino), Bobby Cannavale (Felix "Skinny Razor" DiTullio), and Anna Paquin as Peggy Sheeran.

Airport scene is on LI but it's at republic on new highway in farmingdale area.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain the cemetery scenes are at saint Mary's cemetary in Greenwich, ct
ReplyDeleteAre you certain, because there's a name on the mausoleum: Knollwood, and there's a Knollwood Park Cemetery in Ridgewood, LI, where they also filmed another scene.
DeleteThere is no mausoleum at the Knollwood Park Cemetery.
DeleteThe “Knollwood Mausoleum” scene at (3:10:08) was definitely shot at “Woodlawn Cemetery”!
DeleteWoodlawn Cemetery
4199 Webster Avenue
Bronx
New York 10470
The exact location of “Knollwood Mausoleum”:

Note: “Street View” is available at this spot, and it is a match with the scene at (3:10:08).
I believe one of the restaurant scenes used was Hunt and Fish in NYC
ReplyDeleteWhen Sheehad and Hoffa are leaving the Deauville Hotel on Miami Beach, they drive south on Harding Avenue and pass 77th Street
ReplyDeleteWould love to know the location of the house where Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro) picks up Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci) in the first few minutes of the movie when they are starting their road trip to the Detroit wedding. I grew up in a house that looked very, very similar.
ReplyDeletePretty certain the barber shop shooting is in the lower lobby of Roosevelt Hotel madison and East 45th as I stayed there in July 2019 and recognised it imnediately
ReplyDeleteAlso filmed a famous scene from The French Connection in The Roosevelt Hotel. The Hojo’s “on Jericho Turnpike” (a long road going through many towns) is actually in Jericho. I grew up there and I remember when I was little the story of Connie Francis being raped there (though I was too young to know what that meant.) The only reason a celebrity of any statute would stay at that motel is its location close to the Westbury Music Fair.
DeleteI also grew up in Jericho and ate at that HOJO's, bowled at Westbury Bowl and saw many acts at Westbury Music fair.
DeleteThe prison that Hoffa and Pro are in together is Rahway prison in North Jersey.
ReplyDelete*Central Jersey 😆
DeleteI did a double take when I saw my parish appear, lol. The church wedding scene where Ray Romano's character was giving away his daughter is St John's Church in Yonkers.
ReplyDeleteYes the prison was definitely Rahway Prison. Its actually located in Avenel, NJ Neither woodbridge Twp where Avenel is located or the City of Rahway wanted to be associated with the prison, so it was renamed East Jersey State Prison. It houses the most dangerous prisoners, murders and lifers.
ReplyDeleteThe. Scene when the Irishman takes off from the airport is farmningdale airport not Brookhaven airport in mastic. If you look when they leave the airport. The back drop is Saint Charles cemetary also the hangar and control tower are at the farmningdale airport.
ReplyDeleteis that mausoleum Ferncliff in Hartsdale?
ReplyDeletethe real Tony Pro
The scene where Frank talks on a pay phone in front of a roadside gas station to Jimmy (who is on the dock at his lakehouse) was filmed at the Old Stone Garage on Western Hwy in Blauvelt, NY:

I saw a part of Drake Hotel in Chicago at the beginning (23min) when they kill a barber or something. It's a classic hotel, very fancy.
ReplyDeleteThey filmed many office scenes at my dad’s job in Mineola. Greatneck Saw Manufacturers.
ReplyDeleteWhat street was the Palma Boys Social Club scene filmed? The building at the end of the block with the columns looks familiar. Is that the big high school on E 116th St.?
ReplyDeleteThe Howard Johnson scene was filmed at the Roadway Inn, Huntington Station, New York, on Jericho Turnpike across from King Kullen grocery store. I only know this because I watched them film it live from the horse farm behind the hotel that used to be there, and now it’s assisted living.
ReplyDeleteWhere was the scene around the 2:34 mark that supposedly shows the Port Clinton, Ohio airport actually shot?
