Welcome to Bracebridge, Ohio: Where was The Knight Before Christmas filmed?

Netflix Goes Medieval in this new extra-cheesy festive season movie about a 14th-century knight -Sir Cole- transported by a magical sorceress to the present-day fictional city of Bracebridge, Ohio.

Romance is served up when he meets a charming science teacher, Brooke, who will introduce him to the secrets of modern society.

Directed by Monika Mitchell and written by Cara J. Russell, the cast is led by actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch), and prince charming Sir Cole is played by Josh Whitehouse.

The Knight Before Christmas was filmed in Ontario and in a castle in Ireland, outside Dublin. The studio work was completed in The Northern Ontario Film Studios in Sudbury, Canada.

It's a cold morning of our Lord's year of 1334 in Norwich, England. The Charleville Castle in Tullamore, Ireland doubles as the knight's home.

According to Wikipedia, this Gothic revival building is not only considered one of the finest of its type in the country, but also one of the most haunted castles in Europe. Beware of witches!

The modern-day town where the movie takes place, Bracebridge Ohio, was actually filmed in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Chancery Lane is featured a couple of times during the film (when Brooke hits Sir Cole with her car and by the end of the movie). This alley is located in the colorful and full of shops Manitoba Street (pictured).

This time the filmmakers didn't make up the name of the place, unlike in A Christmas Prince, where the action takes place in the fictional nation of Aldovia, or the new Netflix series The Stranger set in the invented town in the United Kingdom Cedarfield.

The lovely couple first meets in the Santa's Village Muskoka's Theme Park, also located in Bracebridge.

Very few productions are actually filming in the Buckeye State; The 2020 Netflix movie The Devil All the Time set in Knockemstiff, Ohio, was entirely shot in Alabama.

The footage of the aerial shots of the city is a bit random, probably taken from an image bank. Pictured in this screenshot, New Brighton, Pennsylvania.

Local news website Bayshore Broadcasting also reported that some further filming took place at Georgian College Muskoka campus and in the town of Orillia.
