The filmmakers were shooting in secrecy under the title 'Greenbrier', to avoid being detected by the legion of fans that still come to the city to spot the locations where Breaking Bad was filmed.
Directed by the TV show's creator Vince Gilligan, the new film is starring Aaron Paul reprising his role as Jesse. Jesse is the former meth cook who was the partner in crime with Walter -Heisenberg- White, portrayed by Bryan Cranston.
Welcome to our guide to the filming locations of El Camino.
One of the most interesting locations of the film is the stunning landscape where Jesse and Todd go to bury the housekeeper's body, shot in Arizona's Painted Desert.
The opening scenes with Jesse and Mike were filmed at the Baca Ranch Scout Camporee in Algodones, NM.

By the way, there's no Holly Avenue with Arroz Road junction in ABQ. It turns out that Holly Rice (rice means arroz in Spanish), is Gilligan’s longtime girlfriend.

Jesse didn't get far for his 250k: The Alaska scenes in a parking lot were shot at the Sandia Crest Scenic Highway in Cedar Crest, located very close to Albuquerque.
The landscape from the aerial footage (image pictured) was recorded at the Togwotee Pass with the Teton Range (Bridger-Teton National Forest, Wyoming).
Also, according to the movie's credits, El Camino was filmed at Albuquerque Studios.

ReplyDeleteThe opening scene with Walt and Mike was filmed at Baca Ranch Scout Camporee in Algodones, NM. It's a few miles north of ABQ..

Thanks a lot for your help, Tommy!
DeleteI don't think the scene with Jesse and Todd is in Arizona. It's 550 in New Mexico between Cuba and Bernalillo.
ReplyDeleteThe Alaska scenes were shot at Cedar Crest, by Albuquerque. Jesse didn't get far for his 250k :)

Deletethe alaska scenes were not filmed at cedar crest. the picture you reference above is off of togwotee pass, those are the TETONS! New Mexico wishes it had mountains like that!
Deletesome were. Click on my name, and you can see comparison photos.
DeleteThe mountains in the Alaska scene are in Wyoming. The cloud is covering mount moran but that is definitely the Tetons
DeleteThe exterior of the Pinkman house is at 11th St. and Roma Ave. NW, as others have noted, but the interior is in the house at 123 Walter St. SE. At least two other films have used the house on Walter (Beerfest & Coyote Waits). 'Sharing the Night Together' was filmed on Highway 70 north of Holbrook, AZ.
ReplyDeleteHi there , doe anyone knows the street where the DEA Hank his house is located .And Tuco,s office building that Walter bluwe up whit Nitrade .
ReplyDeleteThank you ; Janis
It said there's no Holly Avenue intersecting with Rice or Arroz, but that they used those names because Vince's Girlfriend is Holly Rice.
ReplyDeleteYou can find this in Breaking Bad filming locations/self-guided tours sites. The Schrader house is 4901 Cumbre Del Sur Ct NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87111 USA. There's a great Sandia foothill hiking trailhead a block from it. I discovered it by accident. Tuco's Headquarters is actually "Java Joes" located at 906 Park Avenue SW, Albuquerque, in real life. This is just off Central Avenue where you'll find The Dog House, and a few blocks from Chuck McGill's house, which is a block from Pinkman's "aunts" house that became his personal home. Chuck's is 215 16th Street SW (at the junction of San Cristobal, the street Chuck references when spinning the story to his ex-wife about the power being shut off because someone at 512 San Cristobal didn't pay the bill), and Pinkman's is literally a block away on the same street at 322 16th St SW, just a few blocks northeast of there at 11th NW and Roma.
Hey, does someone knows where is taken the shot with the car on the road just before the painted desert scene
