The Elden village in France where the Marianne series was filmed
Posted by Ra Moon
Are you Marianne? - The French terror Netflix series Marianne is both funny and scary, in equal parts. The plot revolves around Emma, a rich, famous, and particularly neurotic writer.
Back to her hometown, Elden, she discovers that the stories about a witch that she writes in her horror novels are also happening in the real world.

Created by Samuel Bodin, the cast is led by Victoire Du Bois as Emma Larsimon, Lucie Boujenah is her assistant Camille, Alban Lenoir is the Inspector Rauman, Tiphaine Daviot, Ralph Amoussou, and Bellamine Abdelmalek are her childhood friends, and Mireille Herbstmeyer plays the scary Mrs. Daugeron.
We are also wondering, where is Elden? Marianne was filmed on location in Paris and Brittany (Bretagne), the historic province in northwestern France.
Where was Marianne filmed?
The fictional village of Elden is actually the charming port of Doëlan near Quimperlé.
Doëlan is a small harbor town in the commune of Clohars-Carnoët, situated in the department of Finistère.

Doëlan features two lighthouses, a green and a white striped one, to signal the entrance of the estuary for the fishermen.
However, the island on the right side containing the third and most important lighthouse in the series was CGI'd to the landscape of the town.

The demoniac lighthouse of the school resembling a medieval tower is the Cap Fréhel lighthouse (Phare du Cap Frehel), in Plévenon (Côtes-d'Armor department).

The sunset scene from episode two was filmed near the 16th century cross between Le Pouldu et Doëlan, La Croix de La Grange.
There is no boat there, but a bench overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Priest's Xavier church is the Chapel of St. Anne of Doëlan.
This granite stone building was completed in 1951, though it looks older than this.

Also, some initial sequences were filmed in Paris. The editorial house Les Éditions Mügen from the first episode was filmed in the Guimet Museum (Musée national des Arts asiatiques).
This institution hosts one of the most complete collections of Asian art in the world.

The French Wikipedia states that the series was also filmed in Pléneuf-Val-André and Jugon-les-Lacs, but we couldn't confirm this.
