Hobbs & Shaw is a spin-off of the popular Fast & Furious franchise, starring Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) and his reluctant partner in crime and fun, The Mechanic Jason Statham.
This high-octane blockbuster takes place two years after the events of the previous film The Fate of the Furious, where producers and studio executives noticed the comedic chemistry between the two.

The duo will be challenged by Idris Elba in the role of the villain Brixton Lore. Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Fallout, The Crown), also stars as the MI6 agent and Deckard's sister, Hattie Shaw. Eiza González (Alita, Baby Driver) plays the mysterious billionaire Madam M.
The movie is primarily set in London and Luke's childhood home on the island of Samoa. The sections of the movie that take place in the South Pacific Ocean nation were filmed on the wonderful island of Kauai in Hawaii.
The Rock, who appears in a house in the Fast X's post-credit scene, will come back in a the next installment of the speedy saga.

Where was Hobbs & Shaw filmed?
The movie was shot on location in London, with studio work taking place at Shepperton Studios.
Exterior shots were filmed on location at the imposing Freemasons Hall, the headquarters of the Masonic Lodges, situated in the Covent Garden area.

The spectacular skyscraper scene was filmed in the Leadenhall Building (also known as The Cheesegrater), located in the City of London financial district.
There are also several scenes set in top London landmarks such us the Millennium Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, and the street leading to the front of St. Paul's Cathedral, Ludgate Hill.

The center of Glasgow doubled as London for the car chase scenes. The streets around George Square were closed down to traffic to host the production.
Pictured, the archway of The City Chambers on John Street. The chase ends up in front of The Piper bar on Cochrane Street.
Some more filming took place on the M8 highway and the Kingston Bridge.

This cool subterranean garage is the Pennington Street Warehouse vaults in London, a location that was also featured in Mission: Impossible Fallout.
In the movie, the entrance is located at The Carpenters Arms pub in London at 73 Cheshire Street.

Madam M's mansion in Moscow was filmed in the 18th-century West Wycombe Park country house in Buckinghamshire.
The manor house provided all the interiors and exterior for the shoot including the facade, which was digitally painted green.
The Russian decorative elements and the green color were added to the film in post-production.

The Eggborough Power Station near Selby (North Yorkshire) was a coal-fired plant that closed down in September 2018.
Hence it was the perfect time to shoot here some of the most spectacular action scenes of the movie, using the eight massive cooling towers of the old industrial facility as a backdrop.

The interiors were filmed in the larger pavilion at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire, a pillar-free event space with 8m high ceilings.

Hobbs & Shaw in Samoa
The scenes taking place in Samoa were filmed on Kauai Island. The Old Sugar Mill of Koloa is a national historic landmark, which served as a key location for the last part of the movie.
According to Reel News Hawaii, the set of Hobbs's family house is located near Gillin's Beach (the foundations are visible in Google Maps).

The helicopter and the trucks have been composited into footage shot on the Nā Pali Coast, on the northwest shore of Kauai.
Much of this stunning fifteen-mile stretch of coastline is inaccessible due to its characteristic sheer cliffs, and there are almost no roads.

Low-flying aerial shots show some magnificent scenery of the Hawaiian Garden Island.
The scene pictured on top is a screenshot of Haula Bay, near the set.
The lower picture is from the bays between Kawelikoa and Kuahonu Points in the Molehu area of Kauai.

Ha! I knew it was Hawaii and not Samoa! Couldn’t believe for a second that the cliffs and the hair raising pics of the chopper and trucks in action was actually shot in the low lying island of Samoa 😁
