Filming locations Guide: Where was NOS4A2 filmed?
Posted by Ra Moon
AMC’s new fantasy-horror television series is based on the novel by Joe Hill, the son of famed Maine writer Stephen King. NOS4A2 (pronounced Nosferatu) is the license plate of the sinister Rolls-Royce Wraith of Charlie Manx, an immortal psychopath who feeds off the souls of children.
Manx, performed by Zachary Quint (from Star Trek and American Horror Story), takes the kids to a twisted place called Christmasland, where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law.

Actress Ashleigh Cummings (Westside, Hounds of Love), plays Victoria 'Vic' McQueen. She has supernatural abilities for finding lost things, and she can use them to track down Charlie's victims.
NOS4A2 was entirely filmed in Rhode Island, New England. The filmmakers found all the locations they needed within the state, doubling as Massachusetts, Iowa, or Colorado, as required.
Where is NOS4A2 filmed?
Several local media reported that a lot of filming took place on the set built in a warehouse in North Kingstown, Michigan.
The wooden Shorter Way Bridge, the hospital, Vic's house, and some more interiors were recreated here.
The path to the covered bridge (pictured) is located in Lincoln Woods State Park. The studio work was done in a warehouse at Quonset Business Park.

The Peter Pan Bus station is off of North Main Street in Providence
ReplyDeleteThat bus station I also thought was off North main St. The reason why is I've driven past it tons of times plus you can see 95 in the show. So that can't be hopeville off Rte 3 and off Rte 95 exit 3.There is no bus station I know of there...I used to live off exit 2 I moved to hopkinton after living in West Warwick my whole life. Which is where a good part of the show is filmed. I also read the high school was West Warwick high.... I'll have to watch it again to be sure... They only showed side shots of what could have been any building. Which is why I didn't immediately recognize it as my old school.
DeleteThat was definitely the Peter Pan bus station in Providence. The high school interiors were Woonsocket, and a few of the library shots were the Woonsocket High library with the rest being the Athaneum..
DeleteI'm wondering where the gas station/general store is...
The gas station is on warren as well
DeleteThe gas station general store is in western Coventry. It's Summit General Store. It's just off the route 102 /route 117 rotary.
DeleteThe Gas station where he buys the air fresheners is in Warren RI on Main St.
DeleteThe opening credits are actually filmed in Haverhill! (I’m from Haverhill, how I noticed)
ReplyDeleteAccording to Joe Hill, every scene was filmed in RI. He said that a lot of places resembled Haverhill.
DeleteI grew up in Haverhill. Some of the opening credits were filmed in Haverhill. The triple decker in the opening credits is on River Street in Haverhill (133 River Street to be exact). Check it out on Google Maps. The bridge? It is the “Rocks Village” bridge that connects Haverhill, MA and West Newbury, MA (over the Merrimack River). I’ve been over it countless times. Originally it was a covered bridge. I’m guessing that may have been Joe Hill’s inspiration to put it in the opening credits.
DeleteCheck it out.

That is indeed very interesting Unknown! Do you happen to recognise the other shot in the opening credits also, the one that follows the triple decker house? It has some telephone/electricity lines and 5 houses behind some trees.
DeleteEpisode one drone aerial footage was shot over Blackstome river in downtown Woonsocket
ReplyDeletePath to the covered bridge is located in Lincoln Woods State Park. It's just past the parking area for the dam . Left turn and up the small hill
ReplyDeleteThe scenes of Bing in the warehouse and loading docks of his second job were filmed in Coventry
ReplyDeleteWhereabouts?
DeleteThey were filmed on Flat River Road in Coventry,RI behind a bldg that has no occupants yet. I know because I drove by coming from y street Town Farm Rd where I live and they were filming it.
DeleteThe store where the wraith was burned is the Summit General Store in Western Coventry (Greene).
ReplyDeleteI knew it!!! That was always a pitstop for me off trestle trail on my dirt bike rides to Moosup CT from Coventry. It's close to the CT border, like a street away. It's off Rte 102.
DeleteI don't remember gas pumps out front though.... And the wraith shops there in an earlier episode. You don't see the store from the outside though only from the register and the last time I went there which was over ten years ago or more the stores register was to the right and a few steps up and then to the left if I remember correctly. The feed and farm counter or whatever you want to call it was the one they show in the Nos4a2 show. The main counter you actually go up to has lots of foods and stuff on it. That's where I used to buy real homeade beef jerky which was the best I ever had. It's in a glass jar and you take them out with tongues. I miss that place.... I'm surprised they didn't go-to cloud 9 just over the border... Her and that boy she liked.... Hahaha
DeleteYou are correct, there is no gas pumps and the register is still to the right. They staged the pumps and the store for the show. I live down the road and visit the store weekly. They did show the outside of the store in the two episodes where they covered the summit general store sign with their sign for the movie.
DeleteScene where Joe finds Maggie stoned on the park bench is down town Warren
ReplyDeleteThanks you all, we updated the post with some of your suggestions!
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see all these sights filmed in RI. Thanks to the people who made it possible. I'm going to Aunt Carries for some chowdah and clam cakes to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteSummit general store was where they burned the wraith
ReplyDeleteSt George’s school would be perfect to shoot at. Inside king hall is super cool

ReplyDeleteI think the drive-in restaurant where Jo worked at with roller skates on is Shady Acres restaurant on route 6 in Foster. Looks exactly like it.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the place where the old daf car stands in episode 7 season 1
ReplyDeleteEpisode10 after Craig’s funeral. Vic leaves on motorcycle from the legion in East Greenwich near Sunnybrook Farms Heads up Main Street.
ReplyDeleteI was super excited that the most recent episode of season 2 was filmed at my alma mater New England Tech. Also I live in the Woonsocket area and I was super pumped to see the areas I know really well in the show as well. My dad works in that areas of South Main and River Street where those two establishing shots were. I have a film degree and wish I can have that kind of job. My Mother also works in the Woonsocket High School area where some scenes were also filmed.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds interesting, do tell us as much details as you can please :D Information on S2 is a bit lacking so far unfortunately. I really wish we knew where Parnassus was for one.
DeleteI was thinking that "Parnassus" MIGHT be the old mill in West Warwick where the "Factory of Terror" resides. look up the street view of 4 Bridal ave. in West Warwick, RI.
DeleteI tried to check with the company behind it, but they have not answered me. I do see what you mean, that backside of the building is very reminiscent of it. However I think it was not here. Parts of it look off to me, like the windows. But I do not rule out this possibility for sure and it is a good catch.
DeleteAnyone know where "The Lake House" was filmed?
ReplyDeleteWhere are the Christmas tree scenes filmed?
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t agree more with the Rocks Village Bridge! I too loved in Haverhill and drive over that bridge everyday! And as for the Tripoli decker I’m also familiar with! I believe the opening credits were shit in Haverhill Ma.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know where the bar scene at the “Providence Hotel”?? I swear that was the bar in the Renaissance Hotel!!
ReplyDeleteSheriff Bly's house from Season 1 Episodes 7 & 8 is on Sunapee Ct. in Coventry, RI.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know where the junkyard in season2 is located?
ReplyDeleteThe scenes with the wraith driving past and parked amount rows of classic cars was filmed at Hall's Garage in Scituate, RI. I was there looking for parts for my '56 Olds & ended up talking the owner Harry. The "road" the Wraith drives down is actually the driveway to their house from the yard. They dragged several classics from one side of the yard to the into that part of the yard at the production company's request to create that scene. Most of the cars they moved are still in that area (with newer cars now mixed in). The scenes among the rows of newer cars were also filmed there (including all the car crusher scenes).
DeleteThe scene of the wraith in front of the beige shop building with the double stacked windows was filmed at Interstate Towing in Woonsocket (the building at Halls is similar, but the one at Interstate exactly matches).
Does anyone know which cemetery they filmed in?
ReplyDeleteI read this book and when I found that there was a show, I was so excited. I just finished watching it on Hulu! Being from Rhode Island, I knew some places looked familiar, but to learn ALL of it was filmed there is amazing. It's nice to have something put our little state on the map! I wonder now, does anyone know where Manx's house was filmed?
ReplyDeleteThere have been multiple locations for said house, but I have spoken to some people working behind the scenes and now about them yes. Not sure if they mind if it got shared as some stands on private property only.
